Vintage Girl Scout Mess Kit Bag from the 1960s
This vintage red and green bag was originally created to hold a metal camping mess kit. This is the bag only - the mess kit is not included. The bag has a red, green and yellow fabric front and a green fabric back and flap. On the back, the Girl Scout logo from the sixties is screen printed in yellow. The shiny green button also has the logo embossed on it. The adjustable green strap is long enough to wear it as a unique cross body bag or you can shorten it to use as a fanny pack around your waist.
Markings: Button has “GS” logo embossed on it. Back is screen-printed with yellow “GS” logo.
Condition: Very Good Vintage Condition. Writing on inside front flap: “Ronda Plowman”. Faded areas on solid green portion of front and back. Small stains on the back near the GS logo and near the top of the back. Light staining on strap. The green portions of the bag (binding, fabric and strap) have faded to different shades of green.
Shipped in an acid free archival bag.
