Vintage Walt Disney World Birthday Celebration Prize Ticket 1987 WDW 15th Anniversary
To celebrate the 15th anniversary of Walt Disney World in 1986 and 1987, each guest would get a ticket when they entered which could award a prize. Every 15 seconds, a 12-foot-high Mickey Mouse alarm clock at the entrance to the Magic Kingdom and a giant flashing clock at Epcot Center announced birthday prize winners. Once a day, the prize was new automobile. Other gifts ranged from a three-night Caribbean cruise to collectible pins and treats (churros, ice cream bars, popcorn). This is not a prize winning ticket. It is dated January 31, 1987 and says “Sorry No Prize Today” in the red box.
I found a cache of old Disney papers and pamphlets when helping my parents move recently. Unfortunately, the Florida heat and humidity is not kind to paper and plastics and many were virtually destroyed. Some were in good enough shape that I didn’t want to toss them, but not that great. Be sure to closely inspect all photos using the zoom option and read our detailed description of the condition below.
