Peace! Original Newspaper World War 2 Ends Waterloo Daily Courier August 14, 1945

This is an original copy of the Waterloo Daily Courier Extra from August 14, 1945 when World War II ended. The Headlines read: “EXTRA! Victory EXTRA!” and “PEACE! WAR ENDS; JAPANESE ACCEPT ALLIED TERMS ON EMPEROR”. Another interesting portion of the front page of this vintage newspaper from World War 2 ended is a box on the lower left that reads “You Can’t Read This, But It’s the Way the Japanese Said - ‘Unconditional Surrender’” with the Japanese characters below. There’s also a photograph of a smiling President Truman.

The outer page is pink in color, the interior pages are standard newsprint that's faded over time. I believe this is the entire paper, even at only 12 pages, since it includes additional world news about the war, local news, livestock market information, classified, funny pages and advertisements.

The newspaper will be shipped in an archival acid free bag and cardboard backer board to ensure no further damage.
