Vintage Black Lacquer and Mother of Pearl Inlay Picture Frame Oriental Double Photo Frame
This beautiful black lacquer double picture frame has flower and bird mother of pear inlays surrounding the picture opening. There is no glass, and I do not recall there ever being any in the 40 plus years they have been in the family. However, I do believe there would be plenty of room to put some in - you can get glass cut at most hardware stores. This hinged picture frame was purchased while my family lived in Hawaii in the late seventies. I would assume it’s Japanese in origin, but it is unmarked.
Condition: Very Good Vintage Condition. No cracks or signs of repair. Some very faint scratches on front visible in very bright light. One area where finish has peeled away (.30 x .15 inch) and 2 very shallow chips on right frame back. 4 pieces of tape on top edge of backer board.
