Antique Spoon with Thistle Design made in England by FC & Co.
This is a small spoon with a cut out thistle and leaf decoration on the upper handle. I believe it is silver plate, although it is not marked as such. It could also be pewter. Judging by the hallmark, it is probably made by Frank Cobb & Co. of Sheffield, England sometime between 1905 and 1940. Purchased by my grandfather when he went to England and Scotland in the late seventies.
I have chosen not to clean or polish this item. I love the beauty of the aged finish and patina and will leave it up to the buyer to clean and polish.
Shipped in an acid free archival bag.
Markings: on upper portion of handle back “FC&Co”
Condition: Very Good Vintage Condition. Finish is tarnished - this has not been polished in at least 30 years, probably more. No visible pitting. No visible repairs.
